Young, talented athletes have everything they need to succeed in their lives. Many children, however, are less fortunate. Children who suffer a spinal cord injury or have muscle diseases, for example, are obliged to do intense rehabilitation, day in day out. Merely to avoid any medical complications related to the injury.
Pressure sores, muscle shortening, arthritis, thrombosis, nerve pain, … the list is endless. A human body isn’t designed to sit still - and certainly not the one of a child that is continuously growing and developing. At To Walk Again we try to offer a wide variety of sport camps to avoid a sedentary lifestyle as much as possible, and with the new Athletes for Hope project, we seek to buy a robot that allows children with disabilities to walk (again). When combining these initiatives, we aim to avoid medical complications for the children in the short term. In the long run, we hope to offer them the opportunity to initiate a new medical project.
